How to Look and Make Love to the Camera

For all my introverts out there I know, this is not easy.  Heck  being in front of any camera is never easy for us on any occasion, but when we have a message that surpasses our own limiting beliefs of ourselves.  We will learn to put our egos aside, and do what we must to help others.

I’m sharing some tips on how to avoid being distracted by looking everywhere else except at the camera.  You won’t believe how simple this tips really are. You just have to put them into practice.  Don’t believe me?  Try it, and practice a few more times and see how much better you will become.

When it comes to making love to the camera; well this is where your personality shines.  Everyone does it different ways.  When you finally get relaxed enough to talk to the camera like it’s your friend people will love and appreciate you and value you as a expert.

Remember: You get them, and they will connect with you.

Being Your Authentic Self Can ATTRACT the RIGHT People

Hello Lovelies,

Have you set business standards for your business yet?  “Say What?!”  You know standards on what you’re business is based upon that will not keep you sane and keep your creative juices flowing without feeling burnt out.  Most importantly help you set boundaries in your business.  As an introverted business owner by business standards is what keeps me healthy and attracts the right type of people to what I do.  It also keeps me true to myself.  What’s the word I’m looking for…Aww yes, authenticity.

Being authentic in your life and in your business it vital for your success as a human being. Without authenticity people will eventually detect who you really are.

You really need to know who are and what you represent. Your audience needs to recognize you for the one thing that sets you apart as an expert.

Not having authenticity in your life and business can lead to disastrous results. You’ll won’t now if the client you’re about to take on is the right fit for you or for them.

Video is another way to showcase your authenticity.  It allows your potential clients to see who you really are, and if there is a real connection between the two of you.  And it can all start from something that you said that really resonated with them, as to why they want to work with you.
So in this particular video I highlight ways to be authentic in life, business and in video.  Click on the image to watch.

Ways to Interact with Your Viewers Using Periscope

I had an awesome time when I sat down and chatted with Jay Black a.k.a “The Sassy and Savvy VA”, she is a talented online marketing specialist who has years of experience working with coaches and consultants.

The first thing we discussed was the importance of being authentic and transparent with your clients, because after all your clients need to relate and connect with you.

During the interview we talked about four ways that a business owner can use Periscope to interact with current and potential dream clients.  And wow did I learn a lot.  Let’s face it. I have my two favorite platforms that I use video to promote my business or just to share some of the juicy tidbits that I have picked up along the way.  However, Jay really opened my virtual eyes into ways I can use this platform in the future.  This info. is too good to keep to myself so I want to share it with you.

Just to highlight the four ways, which by the way she shares a bonus in the video, and if you want to find out what that is you will have to watch. 😉

So here we go:

Step 1: Share your tricks and tips.  These videos don’t have to be long, nor polished. 1-2 minutes is good.

Step 2: Give your peeps a “Backstage Pass” to an event that you’re attending, or a speaking engagement.

Step 3: Host a Q&A segment.  (Be sure to let them know when you are hosting your Q&A, and allow your clients to send you questions in advance)

Step 4: Give them a behind the scenes view of your business, coaching/consulting practice.

So if you are curious about what Periscope is and/or how to use it effectively then please watch this video.

Talking Negatively Leads to a Dead End

dead end

“I’m too fat, I am so ugly, I never have a good hair day.” Now your mouth may be dropping to the floor right now as you read  this, but I have heard some women say these things about themselves, and to be quite honest I have said a few of these things about myself in the past. As women we can be our own worst enemy.  We can talk down about ourselves so doggedly at times. You’ve probably have a friend that has no problem putting themselves down, or have you caught yourself saying something negative about the way you look? But in recent years, I’ve decided that I will longer to put myself down.  Why? Because I know for certain that I would never allow anyone else to say destructive things about me so why would I disrespect myself?

Over the past few years, I have worked with female entrepreneurs by helping them to promote their brand and business by creating visual content.  However, when I ask them about using video as a way to stand out from their competition, they shrink back.  That’s when I hear the “Negative Nancy” statements.  Sometimes, what I hear is much worse, which makes my heart ache.   But before we head toward a downward spiral of despair, I tell them, “Before you can step in front of any recording device you must be able to live it, work it, and own it in your life.  We are not perfect humans so why do we expect perfection from within.  We must stop the madness and get a grip on reality.” That may sound harsh, but I like to be truthful with myself and others.

Sometimes, when we have been hurt, or allowed other people’s negative thinking to fully saturate our thoughts; we tend to adopt it as our own way of life.  We may even feel that there is no way to combat these feelings.  We wish we could snap of it, but we don’t even know where to begin.  This is when we have to stop the madness and get a grip on the reality.  We first have to admit that we are not perfect, and we never will, instead say, “Practice doesn’t make perfect, practice makes improvement.”  You read right, we must strive for improvement not perfection.

Positive Steps to Take Today

There are practical steps to take that can help alleviate the intensity of our negative emotions that paralyzes us from taking action.  When we feel down or anxious over things that we cannot control, it is better to change our routine or environment rather than let damaging thinking occupy our minds.  For example you can,

  • Leisurely take a walk
  • Listen to soothing/inspirational music
  • Do some vigorous exercise
  • Perform a random act of kindness or a good deed for someone in need

Doing these things may provide some relief or bring some measure of happiness.  The key is to stop undesirable thinking in its tracks by focusing our attention on positive thoughts, people, places, and things.  Even if it means that we have to practice standing in front of the mirror each day and say, “You are absolutely breathtaking today.” My wish for anyone who has a poor view of themselves is to look at what you’ve accomplished and realize that your journey is not over. Most importantly, you must learn to love yourself.

“No one knows what you’re worth, but you.”  Pearl Bailey
